In 1982, I began photographing buildings and streetscapes in Nova Scotia using a large format camera. Many of the pictures have been published in Historic Halifax and LANDMARKS: Historic Buildings of Nova Scotia - collaborations with the architectural historian Elizabeth Pacey.

The project was an opportunity to photograph in a more systematic way, to make pictures with less "me" and more "there", to learn a new (old) technology, and to pay back a debt to my adopted home.
